We didn't think we would have anything to say for at least another two months, but here we are already again with some very happy news.
In our last post we wrote that it was with some trepidation that we were signing a contract while still being in need of quite a significant amount of funds. Well, it seems as if our good Lord was waiting for this small show of faith to work a miracle. Today we received two extremely generous donations from two of our convent's oldest benefactors that cover exactly what was lacking. Glory be to God!
That doesn't mean that we will be able to move right in, though. Not included in the contract is the plastering, painting inside and outside, and flooring, all of which we plan to take care of ourselves to keep costs down (one of the firms would have charged us 8,000 euros just for painting). We will also at first have no inner doors, and the bathroom will be empty except for a hot water heater. But all that we can take care of gradually as more funds come in. We expect the expenses for this phase of the work to be at least 5,000 euros.
Sister Lydia is already dreaming about the day that she doesn't have to share a room with the printers!
